Generally a good fitness evaluation will involve the following; resting heart rate, resting blood pressure, circumference measurements, body fat percentage measurement, cardiovascular stress test which may include a 3 minute step test and/or treadmill walk test to test the efficiency of the heart, lungs and circulatory system during physical stress and the body's ability to recover from
stress, muscular endurance test which typically will involve number of sit ups and pushups completed in one minute, a muscular strength test involving a bench press (or chest press machine) test for upper body and leg press or squat test
for lower body strength.
Each fitness evaluation will usually come with a complete printout of your results. This is ideal to identify a starting point, to monitor specific progress and to identify any subtle changes which may be needed to ensure consistent progress and obtain the most effective exercise programming. I personally like to include a printout which shows where you rank nationally among your specific age group. A thorough evaluation will also include photos to show before and after physical changes accomplished and/or need to be addressed.
