Pick up a loaf of bread, box of cereal or most any food product and you'll find they are fortified with various vitamins and minerals. Enriched with this, fortified with that... The animal products we consume such as chicken and beef, have digestive systems designed to receive life giving nutrients from grass and plants yet they eat inexpensive corn feed, and not just corn feed but Genetically Modified Organism feed! That is scientifically altered feed that is passed on to us. Couple that with the growth hormones and antibiotics and it's no wonder we have more food allergies, cancers and our children hit puberty at such an early age.
When I grew up, we never really heard of children with ADHD, or as many issues with behavior in school. Could it be that we didn't consume all the sugar by-products and stimulants found in the foods we eat today? Chemical derivatives have found their way into just about every food and beverage we consume. Is science really making our food healthier? Do companies such as Monsanto and the government really have our health and well being as their primary interest? We get sick from our food... go to the doctor... take a pill, another synthetic chemical with side effects and poisoning our bodies slowly.
"The food you eat can either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.” - Ann Wigmore I'm not trying to be a conspiracy theorist here. But I find myself asking the question, at what cost to our body, our health, our nervous systems, does the synthetic chemical laden foods we consume start causing us alarm? I don't know if I'm just being paranoid. I personally had some health issues arise involving my heart because of "natural supplements" I had been taking. It wasn't until I started doing research that I found out how ignorant I was to the volume of synthetic, man-made food I had consumed believing it was healthy for me! I dunno what the answer is, perhaps I'm just carb depleted and need to grab a protein or meal replacement bar to get my blood sugar levels artificially elevated from the high fructose corn syrup? Anyway... just some food for thought... NO PUN INTENDED!
