thought I'd take a moment to issue a challenge of my own. The following are two
workouts I endured. Both Suzanne and Pat put me through workouts that were fun
and challenging. Both workouts were completed in thirty minutes or less. See if
you can take the challenge and complete these workouts yourself. I came to find
out apparently Suzanne's favourite number is 25!!!!! There is little no rest
between exercises.
Suzanne's Workout
Kettlebell Farmer Walk (holding pair of 18kg kettlebells walk down the length of
the hallway)
Run the stairs 5 times
Kettlebell Farmer Walk (holding pair of 18kg kettlebells)
25 pushups
25 shoulder width pushups
25 staggered hand pushups (50 total reps)
25 reverse grip narrow pull ups
25 kettlebell plie squats (holding two 18 kg kettlebells)
25 kettlebell deadlifts (using two 18 kg kettlebells)

25 step ups with knee up at top of bench (50 total)

walking lunges down the hallway and back
25 jackknives on Bosu ball
25 jackknives on Bosu ball
* all exercises are completed back to back. I was sweating and definitely felt
AWESOME after!
Pat's Workout
3 minutes Amish Treadmill (that's ridiculous! Who makes someone do 3
minutes?!?ha ha)
walking lunges down the hallway
stairs 5 times
walking lunges down the hallway
25 pushups
25 suitcases (18kg kettlebells)
25 straight arm pulldowns (eyes and thighs)
25 burpees
25 jump squats
10 leg press (twenty 45lb plates for a total combined weight of over 1,200 lbs)
15 abductor machine (with entire stack)
25 adductor (with the entire stack)
10 single hand rows (with entire stack and John (trainer at Trax) standing on
top of stack)
15 shoulder press (entire stack)
25 jackknives
25 oblique twist (side twists with 25 kg kettlebell)
plank (90 seconds)
* I completed the above workout in 40 mins as it took some time to load and
unload weights from leg press and other machines etc. In fairness to me as
well, this workout was a collaborative effort as John (trainer at Trax) and
Maureen (insane workout beast who enjoys being beat down herself for a workout)
all were shouting out their torturous exercises to add to the mix!
All said and done, these were two excellent workouts that challenged me and
kicked my butt! As I've said many times, "I'm a humvee not a sports car." To be
pushed through an intense paced workout was beyond my comfort zone and made me
sweat way more than I usually do! At one point Pat kept asking if I was ok
because I guess I was turning purple! ha ha. And sure... I may have "whined" a
little... especially with the 3 minutes of Amish Treadmill (using an exercise I
invented against me is just wrong!) followed immediately by walking lunges,
stairs and more lunges! But... at the end of the day.... I'M STILL
STANDING!!!!! I'm thinking I'll do another week of TRAIN THE TRAINER during the
summer. It was a fun experience for all involved. Stay tuned for more info...
