A. In short... NO.
While many fruits and vegetable contain the same vitamins and minerals, there are some nutrients you receive from veggies that are difficult to incorporate into your diet with fruits alone. Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and others offer a ton of sulphoraphane which may help fight breast cancer. Veggies also offer nutrients which help protect you from heart disease and various cancers. Relying on just
fruits may also set you up for blood glucose issues because
certain fruits tend to be high in a natural sugar known as
fructose. Certain vegetables tend to be higher in protein
(like broccoli) than fruits as well.
Having a diet incorporating both fruits and vegetables is your best insurance policy for maintaining a healthy body. Try combining veggies with fruits such as making a veggie salad and add some tangerine, strawberries and blue berries to sweeten and add different textures. You can also try adding dips like hummus with your veggies to help add a different flavour. There are sooooo many vegetables out there... surely you can experiment and find a few you like, can incorporate into a recipe or can dress up with a low calorie topping!
